• About Ripton Rosen

    Ripton Rosen is a multifaceted data science professional, entrepreneur, and investor who has a profound interest in the intersection of data analytics, creativity, and business. His areas of interest include video games, eSports, and entertainment.

     

    In June 2016, Rosen began his career as the co-founder and business development director of FanFare Sports Technologies. FanFare specializes in developing in-stadium entertainment solutions to enhance fan engagement. Rosen worked part-time as an adult and youth sports supervisor, math tutor, and teacher from June 2016 to November 2018.

     

    In November 2018, Rosen co-founded Sông Cái Distillery, where he served as Head of Digital Strategy until February 2020. Sông Cái is a pioneering Vietnamese distillery.

     

    From February 2020 through September 2021, Rosen served as a fitness instructor, trainer, and social media support person for Row House, contributing significantly to the opening of the new fitness studio. Currently, he is an investor based in New York City.

     

    Ripton Rosen graduated from Brooklyn Friends School in 2009 as an excellent high school baseball player. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with a physics major from Elon University in 2016. From 2020 to 2021, he enrolled in the Flatiron School data science program.

     

    Rosen has diverse professional skills acquired throughout his career, including data analysis, SQL, Python programming, brand strategy and management, digital strategy, entrepreneurship, launching startups, and social media support.

New York Cares is best known for its annual coat drive, which has been running for 33 years. It also runs year-round programs to tackle homelessness, hunger, educational inequity, and environmental issues. New York Cares volunteers work in soup kitchens, schools, public parks, senior centres, libraries, and other non-profits.

     

    Ripton Rosen has published two articles on Medium. In one article, he explains Gradient Descent, an iterative process that is one of the most commonly used algorithms in machine learning. In another article, he discusses how most top-grossing Hollywood films are sequels, spinoffs, remakes, or part of an existing universe. He explains how this phenomenon has led studios to acquire as much intellectual property as possible.
